Returning after 2-3 year hiatus-New ride

I'm thinking about adding a more stable rack that also ties down near the rear wheel. That way I can put a milk crate or something to throw my books/laptop onto. I hate riding with my backpack on. By back is always drenched by the time I'm at my destination.

I'm thinking about making a trailer, but that's down the road.

I saw that there is a biking section on the forum now (I don't think that was there before). Anyone know how I can get the graphic that shows how many miles I bike vs how many miles I drive?
