Hey MetroMPG I saw your test of the Fiesta but have you tried the new Focus? I see them for under $11,000 after rebates for the base. I think it may do really close to the same MPG as the Fiesta. We test drove a used 2013 and it was a great car but we didn't have time to do any MPG testing. I know the 2.0 in the focus has variable valve timing and direct injection, the 1.6 in the Fiesta has the VVT but I don't think it has DI. The Focus has active grill shutters as well on the base, even though it's a little bigger I bet driven right it gets the same mpg and the back seat is pretty nice. This is for the manual, the automated manual has supposedly had issues and costs a bunch anyway.

I actually haven't tried either. (Must be someone else?)

I'd like to drive a Fiesta 1.0L though.

Dad had a 2013 Focus SFE we really wanted me to keep, but I did not have a job. That was a beautiful car and the dash said 50 MPG when I started driving. I hypermiled the best I could, but could never fill my late father's shoes.

I think everyone in my family would be happy if I could purchase a Focus that looked like his, I couldn't surprise them, though. Somehow I had the wrong number for my sister and messaged her that I was stopping by. I pulled up, she was outside and thought "Dad's here."

No, just me. Dad is not around anymore.

I thought you could look up car prices on Edmunds, but it only showed me one Focus, if I could pick up an SFE I would honestly be tempted.

RMay, one of our Civic owners traded trunk lids with someone without a spoiler.

how the mighty have fallen...

This rode very hard and put away wet 2015 base Micra popped up in my used car alerts for $1695...

Same as the car I reviewed for this thread, and by far the cheapest used Micra of this generation I have seen so far.

If it were closer to me, I'd be tempted to go have a look.

Sheesh, me too, and I don't even need a car. That's one of those cars that's so cheap they're practically paying you to take it. Winter beater? Grocery getter? Yes and yes. As long as it doesn't smell like cigarettes inside
