Honda Civic VX Front OEM Spoiler / Lip MPG improvement?

Hey all,

My front spoiler was stolen off my Civic VX. I was wondering if it's helping or hurting me with my MPG by not having it on the car. I'd like to know before I try to replace it.

Thanks!

I believe this is the OEM spoiler I used to have. (Not my picture).

That is two inches? I think that you would need very good instrumentation to measure an improvement, which would still not necessarily be greater than "noise."

Many members on here have made their own and some look pretty good. Mine just barely scrapes on parking blocks\stoppers\whatever those are called.

So, of course, I need to stop before I hit it...

Honda claimed a significant gain from these little aeromods. I posted percentages from Honda once, here on EM. It makes a difference, but not so much that buying another is worth it. Time to get the lawn edging out!

Thanks for the information! I'll probably skip on buying another one. I don't want to make the car too attractive or aggressive looking. I'm trying to stay low key on this daily driver.

You could try a cheap, low key, black lawn edging airdam just two or three inches tall and set back from the bottom of the bumper cover. It won't scrape, and it would still divert air to the sides instead of allowing it to go to the aero-messy underside, while being a bit more stealthy. And nobody will steal it. Look up lawn eding airdam on this site to see possibilities.
