Works on Google chrome, not IE. Still considering which style will be effective yet flexible. Thinking.......

Based on the van is being used as camping rig. Carrying kayaks will happen more often than not. Plus the RTT ended up working best at the very back of my newly built roof rack. I think I'm screwed. LOL
I think I'm done considering mods for the roof (unless I am missing something)

I couldn't tell much from the custom roof rack, but have you thought about using a hitch extension and resting the kayaks on that and the top of the van?
Then you might be able to do the rounded front edge for in front of the tent.

I thought of that but didn't go any further after realizing the kayaks are about 10' long. But now that they are down I think I will drop in my motorcycle rear bumper carrier and get a better visualization.
