Yes, I had an 02 Corolla S with auto, but decided to go back to a manual.Toyota manuals are soooo easy to drive. Don't even mind the 1-2 hours of weekly stop & crawl rush hour traffic.

What's the difference between the S and the other trims? Doesn't the S have lower geared tranny?

The only difference is lower gearing on the manual vs the automatic, regardless of trim line.(8th gen CE, LE or S)

The XRS was introduced in the 9th generation with a freer revving, higher performance engine & lower gearing than the other models (ie, no longer an extreme sipper, but more fun to drive)

I'm willing to bet that this is what the dealer does. Probably just clips it and caps it off haha. Thanks man I'll definitely be doing this.
