Just got here - 06 Jetta TDI

Maybe this site has re-inspired me. Bought the Jetta new in 06 and used to focus on economy quite a bit...not so much the last few years. Lifetime tank mpg for 146k miles is 43.579, but just had a sub-40 tank a few fill-ups ago Best tank was a hair over 50 IIRC. 48 on the way to work today and 47 coming home. Just moved from (thought it was flat) coastal South Carolina for a job in (oh my God it's flat) southern Louisiana, but surprisingly the ol' Jetta can coast quite a ways here! Maybe it's time to finally block off some of those grille openings and a few other improvements. Anyway, doubt I'll have much to add but it's been interesting reading so far.

Welcome! Was always curious how the newer TDIs could do with some 'seriuos' effort... would love to see what you can do!
