I can imagine adding the sculpted foam former, then vacuum-forming a shell over it. Instead of removing it, just trim the edge. If there is an undercut, it would act like a crimped edge.
its a giant screw and then abs plastic gorilla glued on it. is like to add a slight bend, but a hammer didnt even do it, so maybe welding and heat would allow a slight bend. still gotta do the covers and then place some VGs to cut the wind noise

At work I mentioned that I saw a new electric crossover/SUV and looked it up, turned out to be a Genesis GV60. I printed it out to show the guys and notice the tiny side view mirrors and exclaimed that the photo must be of the concept car, no way those tiny things were legal.

One of the guys looked up mirror size, don't know where but he said 10 square inches is legal, in other words 2" x 5".

I notice now that this photo (different than my first search) says "INTERNATIONAL MODEL SHOWN". So does that mean those tiny mirrors are for all other countries other than USA/Canada?

Nope saw one on my trip to Durango last week as it blew past me westbound on interstate 70 at while I was going 80mph. Said Wtf is that..... but the mirrors on it were about that size, relatively tiny, I figure there were rear cameras involved

I have removed the exterior mirrors on my Saturn and in lieu installed a 5 panel wink type mirror. I can see more now than before. The only difference is overcoming the muscle memory of looking at a side mirror

And yes that arrangement is legal in my state.

My Wink mirror is in the fourth or fifth vehicle to date. I can see everywhere without turning my head.

The forward face says 'Love > Fear' (math joke).

The Metro has a clip-on mirror that compensates for not having a right-hand outside mirror.

Genesis mirrors

For 'compliance' purposes, the Mercedes-Benz EQXX's mirrors would be a 'fail' as far as size and rain-shedding requirements go. ( Frank Marcus, page-71, August 2022 MOTOR TREND )
The Genesis would be suspect.

EQXX is registered as one off and has to meet eu visibility requirements and 54 other approval points. that mirror visibility is checked unless they have some speciall approval for the mirrors why they not fill requirements.

Here mirrors moved to slow air and put vertically. Not good for visibility but...

Reverse cameras seem to make most people forget what a side mirror is
