Site slow??
Is anyone else having problems with the site being slow to download? It's kind of hit and miss but there are many times when I can't get it to download. I wait about five minutes and then try again with no problems.
I'm using Opra as a browser and wonder if that might be the issue.

I'm using FireFox and right now I'm having problems. I appears that the site is waiting forever for ads to load, so the ad sites seem to be the problem. I'll activate FireBug and hang around, clicking on random threads and see if I get and useable info on the lag.

OK, I got a page ("Recent Posts") to take 27.48s to load, I got hooked up by ad.afy11.net. The page finally loaded, but without the ad in the banner (FireBug is still waiting for ad.afy11.net).
I reclicked on "Recent Posts" and it took only 4.63s, that's about normal. This time there was an ad in the banner.
One more try and it's hung up on ad.afy11.net again. Waited 2 minutes and tried agian. This time 4.97s and everything is OK.

I'm a paid member and don't have ads but I guess they could be running in the background. Nice detective work. Thanks

If ads are turned off for paid members, they don't load in the background.
That said, we have had issues with Adify before (however obviously not connected to your problem, Laz.)
I wasn't on the site after supper last night, so didn't see anything odd. Seems OK today though.

I have not had an issue since I originally posted this. I had the issue for 2 days. I guess that's pretty typical. One things for sure. The price of admission is definitely worth losing the ads
