The funny part is that some communities have by-laws saying that you have to use skateboards on the street and not on sidewalks.

This is an interesting time, as we slowly try and shift from the past 50 to 60 years where the IC powered automobile has been viewed as the pinnacle of personal transportation.

There's a new bridge being planned to for Windsor - Détroit and just like the existing bridge and tunnel, it will have no access for cyclists.

Good publicity for his business.

A buddy of mine was arrested 2 times for riding a bike on an empty sidewalk down here, glad to see it is a 2 way street so to say.

People need to acknowledge the roads are for everyone to travel on and use responsibly, not just for cars. This stuff saddens me.

I know, cause I used to skateboard frequently. (I still do on occasion).

There's always a stereotype for something. and the stereotype for skateboarders is they are up to no good and are heading to vandalize something and create a ruckus. A lot of them aren't like that (there is always the ones that ruin it for the rest of them).

My friend got pulled over one time for skateboarding on the road. He was going to school and a cop actually pulled him over. He said he walked out to him and asked for his drivers license. He was 15 at the time so no license. He was lucky they didn't take it away. It costs like $150 to get it back!! People who get it taken here just don't bother cause they can buy a totally new one for that much money.

I've been ticketed for skateboarding. I took the officer to court, in order to fight the charges. The judge laughed the officer out of court, telling him never to waste peoples time like this again! It was one of the best days of my life.

Just wait until I get my velomobile. I'll probably get ticketed no matter where I drive.

Nah, I've been pulled over before in a velo... the cops were pretty receptive (and these were campus police uptight as all hell officers - our school is big, they have jurisdiction in the city outside of our school too). I guess, as is for all things, YMMV... Be sure to have mirrors and turn signals if you can't use hand signals or look back easily

Why did I get pulled over? They thought it was motorized, which wasn't allowed on the streets I was using They were pretty amazed it was all human
