SketchUp Models of Concept Vehicles
In digging around in the Google SketchUp 3D Warehouse, I found a model of a very interesting concept vehicle, called Detaidon 3 wheel Car - Longrange Electric Drive Reverse Trike, 2F1R (click on link to download the model). Here's what it looks like:
Aerodynamically it is pretty good. And all 3 wheels are powered. My worry is the two flanks of (lead acid?) batteries -- they are low which is good, but they seem a little wide in the back.
I'll post more models as I find 'em. I hope that you can install the free version of SketchUp and try looking at these -- you can orbit around and look at them from all angles.

Here's another reverse trike -- a single seater, with a very detailed motorcycle-derived rear wheel. It has a catchy name (not): OSCSV1S-RWD (click on link to download the model)
Here's what it looks like:
This one is specifically open source, and it is designed by a group called the "Cabinscooter Club".

...the old Honda S600 had "chain-drive" and was outlawed in California as I recall.

I don't think the S600 (and later S800) were outlawed in CA; they simply were never sold in the US. The ones we have here are all private-party imports, most often I hear from servicemen serving in Japan. I've seen one in person, and of course Leno has (at least) one in his massive collection.
Neat cars. I am sure that I don't fit in them, though. They're really really tiny.

...saw my first S600 on the island of Guam at a car-rally back in 1967.
...I know of two here in Tucson, AZ, restored and owned by private Honda mechanic.

Some pretty cool designs in that 1st one I also would question the use of 3 motors? why not keep it to just 1 or maybe the 2 but 3 is unnecessary weight added and complicates it more than it has to be, in my opinion.
The other single motorcycle style design is slick but I always wondered how a vehicle with such a flat bottom would handle at highway speeds given a strong headwind?

Neil...
Will you be adding the sketchup models that you've been creating to this thread too? (such as Dave's Dolphin & the pickup bed cover design)

Sure! Here's the CarBEN EV (which I have not been able to upload to the 3D Warehouse for some reason?):
Here's my blog post on the CarBEN EV:
