In 2012, Coventry University took the Audi A2 into a full-scale wind tunnel to test aero mods.
Their belly pan reduced the Cd 0.288 car by 16.2-counts ( 5.74% ). Very much worth doing!

im trying to figure out how much smooth under tray would do for my ioniq. whats funny is the ioniq hybrid says the cd is .24, but the full ev one is .25. look it up. makes no sense. the ev has a smooth under floor and a smooth front/no grill...

Is that the IONIQ-5?
If so, it's because of its roofline.

Ioniq smallest tire size 195/65R15
Ioniq EV 205/55R16

That could explain little bit and that difference is little between the models. Front tire deflectors looked universal in the EV version so they dont compensate wider tires...

But most of all those are just OEM figures which they say Cd is, for many reasons they almost never are accurate. So I would not look too much on those figures, maybe the gas version gets some benefits on taxing by reaching lower consumption figures on paper and thats why its said to be lower Cd even in reality its not.

But lets try to keep this topic about those simulations, easier for everybody in the long run to find data.

what kind of computer did Vekke use for Solidworks?

Vekke,
now that we're discussing a new and different CFD software package, it would be great to know some of the specifics about the desk top computer, or work station that was required to operate the Solidworks CFD.
State Key Laboratory of Automotive Simulation and Control, Jilin University, Changchen, China used a 120-core processor to operate SIEMEN's STAR-CCM+ CFD software.
Thanks in advance!
