Not a hobbyist solution, but it is impressive. Analysis down to the panel gaps.

AirShaper
What disturbed me, and questioned AirShaper's credibility, was their analysis of the Ford F-150 pickup.
Airshaper had come up with around Cd 0.54, for the F-150, after FoMoCo had already published an official Cd 0.402 for the truck at it's website.
Which implied, 'garbage-in, garbage-out.'

You're joking right? What solutions does Ford use to reach that coefficient?

1) FoMoCo designed the vehicle
2) FoMoCo has the complete CAD-CAM file
3) Frontal projected area is derived directly from CAD
4) FoMoCo has been doing CFD since the late-1980s
5) To back up their CFD results, FoMoCo measures forces directly from tests in a 1:1-scale, rolling-road wind tunnel, as per SAE/ISO, crosswind-averaged Cd and lift, as a requirement for EPA new car sales certification
6) The non-dimensional coefficient of aerodynamic drag is simply the result of dividing the drag force by the frontal area.

I'm not interested in history, I asked you about the solutions used.

Came across this today.
Of interest to me is a visual GUI, as well as the free version too, of course.

You are all mathematical geniuses, and I ain't smart like yew all is. Can some of you please run some tests for the Ecomodder community ?

Where I thought progress would come from extending existing software with better data structures and algorithms, super-advanced CFD may fall out of research in Artificial Intelligence instead:
While this doesn't adress CFD directly, it defines super-exponential and then around the 16 minute mark he speculates on animating weaving through traffic. It could as easily apply Navier-Stokes or Boltsman methods. Superhumanly. Real Soon Now.
Runs on the M1 Mac.

This sounds like an argument between kids, Ford is better, no, AirShaper is better.
However, that car does not have any aerodynamic solution on it. Only those elephant mirrors make half of that coefficient.
