Somender singhs grooves, acetone, etc

Just a collection of links to actual people actually trying Somender singh's grooves and acetone etc.
That's a rare thing as most all posts on the subject get so dumped on by people who have NOT tried the idea that you struggle to find any useful info for all the "Unicorn!-UNICORN!" posts.
Too bad you cant shout that here in the Unicorn corral isn't it!?

The grooves seem to help at low rpms and loads according to those that tried them here:

Garrett Robert Herning - Projects; Singh Test Results, AutoTronixs, LLC

The Acetone I haven't read into far but the number of posts points to there being something there.
It's said to increase the vaporization of the fuel.
I note that pgfpro here, runs a LOT of Acetone.

Xylene:

Ozone (there's science here) from distributor cap (not so much):

Any more?
By that I mean things you thought may help but thought better of mentioning here.

I can confirm there is ozone under the distributor cap. I once bought an aftermarket HEI distributor, and after about 3 years the internals had corroded into an unusable state. It could have used the vacuum mod.

Acetone–Gasoline Blend as an Alternative Fuel in SI Engines: A Novel Comparison of Performance, Emission, and Lube Oil Degradation
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10061524/
"...Compared to gasoline, A10 produced better results in 11.74 and 12.05% higher brake power (BP) and brake thermal efficiency (BTE), respectively, at a 6.72% lower brake-specific fuel consumption (BSFC).
The blended fuel A10 produced 56.54, 33.67, and 50% lower CO, CO2, and HC emissions..."

Performance and exhaust gas emission of gasoline engine
fueled by gasoline, acetone and wet methanol blends
https://iopscience.iop.org/article/1...5/1/012013/pdf
"... there was a 12.62% increase in brake power.
Brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) has increased by 4.35% compared to P100. The increase in BSFC was due to the calorific value of acetone and wet methanol which was lower than the premium..."

Performance and Emission Assessments for Different Acetone Gasoline Blends Powered of Spark Ignition Engine
https://www.researchgate.net/publica...gnition_Engine
"...it was found that the AC10 had a higher engine brake power, thermal efficiency, volumetric efficiency and BSFC with 4.39%, 6.9%, 7.2% and 5.2 percent respectively than those of pure gasoline. Furthermore, the use of acetone with gasoline fuel reduces exhaust emission concentrations by 26.3%, 30.3%, 6.6% and 4.4% for CO, UHC, NOx and CO2 respectively..."

So yes:
Acetone can move out of the corral
and
pgfpro is seeing more advantages from his gas and paint thinner blend than most here realise.
Is there a way to invite him/people here without PMs etc?

Iirc, acetone is a viscosity and friction modifier for petrochemical fuels.

Viscosity is a duh, the friction was suprise, does other things also

What he said^^^^^

Can get acetone bunches cheaper if you buy 500 gallons......the supplier will even deliver for free ( included in the price but still way cheaper)

Orange store ISNT the place to aquire odd things, you're paying for the neighborhood convenience.

The fellows on team-bhp (linked in 1st post) are mixing in 2.5% Acetone with good results.
So the question becomes: Does adding X% of Acetone decrease my total fuel bill?

I note that panel-beaters/spray-painters are paying to get their 'dirty' Acetone carted off and incinerated. (as per pgfpro)
That means that you could probably get a good amount for free (or better!) if you drove your High Mobility, 4 Wheeled Incinerator over to these shops and asked for some.

Ozone:
Interesting here is:
Efficiency went way up when the concentration of Ozone in the reactor was low... as it would be in an intake tract.
A DBD also gives you flow... into the engine. That kills 2 birds with one stone.!

I'm 'seeing' a DBD modded intake tract that helps flow air AND ozone into the engine.

pulsed DBD system
