speed, distance, time spreadsheet

i always tell people when i am driving 25 in a 25 instead of doing 30 that it doesnt matter because on the short drive it doesnt make a real time difference (especially when you catch up to the person who just passed you sitting at a red light)

so anyhow to prove my point, i made a spreadsheet that shows the time required for a trip while maintaining consistent speed (no stops) i was surprised by some of the results, so play around with the speeds and distance (even though i labeled mph and miles you can put in km/h and km) have fun and feel free to use it to prove your point the next time your spouse yells at you for going 55 instead of 70 on a 10 mile trip
john
p.s. sorry of anyone already posted a novelty like this and i missed it

This would be a cool feature of Ecomodder 2.0...

According to your spreadsheet, it takes me 3.78181818 more minutes to travel my commute @ 55mph compared to 75mph.

Over the course of a year, I spend an extra 605 minutes (~10 hours) of time in my commute. Damn...

i would love to see a web wiget that works with this, i think it would help to show people that they really dont save much time by speeding, but then again people are either stuborn or they dont think they drive as fast as they do...

I agree - this would be perfect for an EcoModder web widget. Sigh. So many widgets, so little time!

Nice to put the facts right up front - nice work!.
