I would calculate the mph including the charge times. Obviously for a fixed distance like 1000miles you would need to do a bit of optimization...


I would plot the following formula

(Range_at_given_speed)/(time_time_to_cover_distance + charge_time)

This will give you your actual mph over the long run.

Speeds above 80km/h are usually worse when it comes to fuel-efficiency.
