Stator replacement/upgrade?
I bought a 200cc lifan c20, needing a new stator.
Searching like crazy, the only thing I can find has more poles than the original.
This setup uses a magnet rotor which spins around a multi-pole stator.
The original has 8 poles, the available replacements have either 11, 12, 15, or 18 poles, but the wiring is the same.
Can I use one of these?

It will most likely be a higher output, this is common if you are upgrading a motorcycle that was sold without lights and you are adding lights.
As long as it bolts up the same it should work just fine.

What about regulator/rectifier issues?
Could it really be as simple as just bolting in a new one and putting the wires together?
I have next to nothing into this bike, so I'm not concerned if something goes wrong.

Also, how do I know which wires go where? All the replacements I find have 5 wires all the same color lol.

This is a Honda clone more or less, right?
The 1981 and newer Honda Cb125 has a 5 wire system, you have a ground, one going to the ignition switch, two that go to the voltage regulator and one that goes to the head light (giving the head light 12v AC?), some of the other wiring diagrams show a "spare" wire that goes no where.
As to tell what goes where I'm not really sure, I would set the new and the old side by side and hope that they are close enough that you can tell, or ask the seller.

Yes, basically XR200 clone.
I have a cb125 engine... Wonder if I can take the stator/flywheel from it and use that...
Will have to check that out. Still have complete wiring harness and electrics too.
