It was a few years ago, but 'Multijet' definitely rings a bell so perhaps we did have a 1.3L motor. I actually opened the hood and found the turbo (much to my wife's dismay -- I mean, come on, here we are in ITALY, on a VACATION, and HE has open the HOOD to look for CAR STUFF ) and it was a cute little thing, about 1/8 the size of the one on my STi.

That would mean you'd be running 100%+ load all the time and you'd never stop accelerating.

Ha! - my dad and I did that on our HDi holiday bus this summer in Spain. Everyone else was just standing shaking their heads and we were trying to work out the size of the turbo and the make of the fuel pump. We had the engine cover off and various bits (the hand-removable ones) in pieces too...
