Tail wagging questions.

OK, I know this is really off the wall, but I was watching my younger dog this morning, and started wondering about a couple of things:

1) How many calories does a dog burn wagging its tail?

2) Why the heck don't his wagging muscles ever seem to get tired?

The spine is very strong. Lots of energy and strength to be had there. I've been practicing Tai Chi for almost 20 years, and if I had a tail I bet it could wag like that.
