Tall tales (ICE running on water)

I was speaking to a gentleman the other week who claimed to be some kind of engineer, he said one of his relatives had worked on the water charger that was fitted to WWII aeroplanes, I said 'Ah! water injection?' He said No, no, running on water... I asked him if it was HHO and expressed scepticism about that, he went on to explain that if you compress water (in a very strong steel tube), and pass an electric current through it, it creates an arc, atomises the water, and you get 'fusion gas'; that is what produces the power. His car outside, he said, had these tubes in each spark plug hole.
The enormous pressures needed to compress the water come from the car's vacuum system. And so on, all with a perfectly straight face.

Just thought I'd share that. I wonder if you did do this, put a body of water under great pressure and pass electricity through it, what would happen?

Water will not compress... It just won't.

If you pass electricity through water... electrolysis happens and it will produce gas but the amount of electricity that would be required to power something would be more than the output you would get. Maybe they were using a steam engine of some sort? Maybe using an electric heater to create the steam?

OP...uh, just tell that 'gentleman' to:

1) lookup the meaning of HYDRAULIC LOCK in conjuction with water.

2) lookup the meaning of ELECTROLYSIS in conjuction with water.

A vacuum system doesn't compress stuff.

Old fogies in America like to tell tall tails to any who will listen.

I met or this guy met me and started off about energy, then tesla, then free energy, then how he was abducted by aliens, then ufos, then he wrote a book about them, then he had a heart attack, then the book wasnt published, then the government tried to silence him and his story just kept going longer than I had interest in it.
