Mostly up hill to work both ways suprisingly, so at 64% more weight it should use that much more kwh. Back of envelope calcs using swag estimate of 1wh /100 lbs per mile that I got from DIY electric car forum.

Your calcs use actual numbers. I was not believing tesla efficiency hype.

Btw are there any real efficiency numbers for a model 3 yet? My experiences show they always want to demonstrate how much faster they are at stoplights.

How do you go mostly uphill? Does someone else drive your car back home?

I'm getting a little less than 2Wh/mile extra per 100lbs with the Crr at .008 and drivetrain efficiency in the high 80s from the site calculator.

Aerodynamic & rolling resistance, power & MPG calculator - EcoModder.com

Those are the real efficiency figures for the Model 3. They're from Tesla's EPA application. The only big efficiency hit I've seen for a Tesla is getting on the pedal from a stop a lot because they use the rear brakes to emulate an LSD, which drops efficiency by ~30-40+%.

EVTV offer a Quaife limited slip for the Tesla. They have an exclusive distribution deal with Quaife. This solves that.

500 foot pass in the center of the trip. 4% grade to work, 3% grade freeway on ramp home trip or slightly less grade for a couple of miles on city streets. Wish I had regen. Couple of other hills and dips.

None of this makes any sense, which sounds characteristic: Tesla Roadster’s SpaceX thruster will be hidden behind the license plate, says Elon Musk

Someone please share the top comments, is not working on my phone.

"Tesla’s new Roadster is going to come with an optional ‘SpaceX package’ that will include cold air thrusters to improve performance."

"When first unveiling the vehicle, Musk claimed a list of insanely impressive specs for the new Roadster, including 0-60 mph in 1.9 sec, 620-mile of range, and more."

"He talked about the Tesla Roadster even being able to hover over the ground."

It won’t be sold under the Tesla brand name.

It will have an ACME nameplate and the target customers will be Coyotes in the Southwest in their never-ending quest to catch roadrunners.

So you can blow past speed cameras with the license plate flipped down and obscured with a vapor tail? I see this becoming a popular feature.

"The automaker is currently taking reservations for the $200,000 base version with an expensive $50,000 deposit and for the $250,000 Founders Series for an even more insane $250,000 deposit.

Recently, Musk tempered expectations when it comes to the timing of the release of the new Tesla Roadster – saying that it is not a priority.

Tesla removed the vehicle from its product roadmap in recent presentations"

Why not? He's already got your money

That sounds like one more gimmick to milk more money out of buyers. Tesla must have learned that sad trick from Apple. Next will be marketing water as dihydrogen oxide. Wake up, folks, hype is always hype.

It goes downhill from there.

It's comical to be able to claim the quickest or fastest anything until it exists. I can imagine something even quicker 0-60 and it uses no vaporware jets behind the plate. It does seem more likely to put 'not a flamethowers' behind the headlights while you are at it to vanquish the Demons ahead of you at the dragstrip.
