Interesting problem

I have a failry simple 125cc motorbike with electronic fuel injection.

I also have a cable actuated speedometer.

I know I can calculate fuel economy from tank fillups but it would be really nice to have on the go mpg readings.

If I fit a magnetic speed sensor, like those found on bycycle speedometers, how viable is the mpguino?

I really like the concept.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have cast magnesium wheels, no spokes here

Like this:

Would a cps sensor work on that type of wheel?

Also how would I go about obtaining/creating the mpguino as I have NO experience with this type of thing.

Thanks
