Thule Fairing for Jeep Cherokee

Hey All,

Brand new to the website so thanks for the help. I am wanting to buy a thule fairing for my 01 Cherokee because I make alot of trips from the U.P of Michigan back home to Chicago and I usually have stuff on my roof. I have OEM bars and I can't figure out if a thule rack will fit on my cross bars? Any suggestions? And any other modification suggestions for a few extra miles per gallons? Thanks

Jake

Suggestions? Do NOT haul stuff on your roof.

It kills both frontal area and Cd. It's a bad idea for fuel economy.

Remove the roof rails completely and buy a hitch mounted cargo rack if you can't fit everything inside the cab.

And if you absolutely MUST keep it on the roof, slow down. Like way down. Like to the point people point and laugh at you.

Then go slower.

I have a roof basket, and with it on it makes no noticeable difference in city driving. That is, less than 50 mph. At 80 mph though, Ill get about 20 mpg tank average. Without it, its more like 27.
