How to record Dual fuel consumption? LPG/Petrol..

My latest car is an LPG/Petrol car.

So far I've brimmed the Petrol tank, and put 45 L into the LPG tank (it holds 52L)

The LPG is topped up when it runs out, again, always with 45L

Car seems to always return circa 280 miles on the LPG.

This morning, at 280.1 miles, ran out of LPG on way to work, and had to complete the drive to work and back (circa 48 miles) on Petrol..

How should I log this in the garage and on spritmonitor?

I was thinking put in fill for the LPG at the same time as the Petrol topup?

But I reckon that'd make the LPG appear to have more MPG than reality?

It would, however, give an accurate TOTAL volume of fuel required for mileage covered..

I'm at a loss!

Anyone any ideas?

Cheers

BUUUMP!

Surely some of you Plug in hybrid fellas could point me in the right direction?

I'll have done 100 miles solely on petrol by close of play today....

Would like to figure this out, as I'm reckoning that the Full Petrol tank is hurting my mpgs?!

I usually fill both at the same time. If you want to see LPG only consumption, you've got to fill up when hot, so you can switch straight to LPG after start-up... Then you fill up again at the end of the trip.

Be warned... Temperature differences between night and day can affect your LPG fill cut-off... as tank pressure will naturally be higher when the outside temperature is higher.

Dunno about the EM Garage.
On Spritmonitor, just fill in when you fill up.

Gas and liquid fuels are separated in Spritmonitor.
It's calculating the distance and average consumption from the last fueling of the same type.

But when you add a gas-powered vehicle; you must choose CNG or LPG right away to get the links to both gas and petrol refills !

You could do that, but as you'd probably rather run on LPG, the petrol quantity will be very low every time.

ATM, spritmonitor doesn't combine both fuels in a Grand Total of price / km or CO2/km .

I've added a CNG test vehicle

So you reckon that it doesn't matter for logging purposes if the lpg tank is not filled,as long as I record the miles it did before I switched to petrol? I can combine gallons of all duel used to give a total mpg..

Does that make sense?

Actually, I do it that way. And to keep it consistent, I drive exactly one kilometer before switching.
