I've used up several sets of Goodyear Viva's on Malibu and Stratus, better than the first walmart Douglas Xtrac,s(wore funny) but I think Xtrac's II's are better so far. Price seems high, I think I paid $80 for last 2 Xtrac II's I bought for the Impala and vivas were almost same price. Xtrac's seem to be gone from walmart website so maybe gone. Run of mill average tires, 40-50,000 miles, didn't track MPG enough to say, traction as good as Cobalts OEM. I'd call local walmarts see if they have any xtrac II's left.

I like a big MPG number, but payback is my key, don't think LRR tires pay for themself, and getting more safety aware.

In Europe, from now on, every tire gets a labelling on rolling ressitance, wet grip and noise.
In the size 195/65 R15, Energy Savers and Conti Ecocontact5 are rated B for rolling resistance (0,0066 < Cr < 0,0077).
Bridgestone will present in October the first A-rated tire which has a lower Cr than 0,0066. The first size will be 195/65 R15.

Bridgestone Ecopia EP001 S – First tires with highest “A/A” rating - Car Tires Blog

Toyo should also release an A-rated tire, the Nanoenergy.

I don't know if/when they will be available in the US, though.

Installed 2 Ecopia's on the front of my cobalt yesterday, EP422's $93. didn't take the time to do A B test yesterday. But comparing work trips 49.9(June) vs 47.3 today(50f). Trip home might be more informative as supposed to hit 70f so closer to June driving conditions.

EDIT: mpg's are indicated are via factory gauge and are about 10% high)

Make sure you account for the difference between an old worn tire and a brand new tire. New tires almost always drop FE unless they are vastly superior to the old tire. Less tread usually means less rolling resistance.

I'll run 3 tanks of E0 and see how that compares, to last 3 tank average, but with weather getting colder if I don't loose I probably gained.

I did notice they didn't seem to have as high of PSI swing as the OEM's have cold to warm, will have to track that a little closer. Less swing I think would mean less heat and less RR.
