Need help installing mpguino on 95 tracker

Hey guys

I have a 2 door 4x4 soft top 16valve 1995 geo tracker

Im trying to install a mpguino.

Ive connected power and negative.

For the vss I connected to a yellow and silver wire I was told is the vss.

For the injector I connected it to a blue wire coming off the first fuel injector. Theres one per cyl so Im not sure if this is correct.

The mpguino came programed for a 94 auto geo metro but I decide to put it in the tracker instead. When installing it I accidentally pressed the buttons and messed up the settings that it came with.

Its reading that its gettig 999 mpg.

Anyone have any ideas as to if its connected correctly and what each of the settig is set on?

Thanks!

Ive never let knowledge stand in the way of joining a good topic.

I am guessing since it is reading 999 for mpg that means its not getting an injector signal, but the other three, power, ground and vss is working.

The VSS wire is a yellow wire A7 and injector 1 is a red wire B11. Both can be found on the two connectors going to the computer under the dash.

Also... Check the following thread if you get the dreaded switch bounce at freeway speeds.

Ok I got the wiring all where it should be but it just hops all around. It will go from 20 to 80 and all over the place.

Do I have all my settings correct?

I bought this mpguino from a guy on geometrofroum and he said that he added something that kept the signal from bouncing.

What hops around? The speed? MPG?

Set your PPM to 8200 then follow the calibration procedure here...

Mpguino calibration - EcoModder

If you scroll over to a screen that shows speed check to see if the speed is erratic. If it is you could have interference or may need a switch debounce circuit. Look here...
