I have been look at getting a gauge for a while now, we will see. I have such a long commute to work and am trying to start saving fuel.

A gauge will help you more than any mod, and it'll recoup its cost very fast if you have a long haul.

There are a couple threads comparing the different options. Most go with the SGII or Ultragauge.

Can these gauges program the ecu in anyway or are they strictly diagnostic?

They can clear codes, but they do not program.
