For Toyota Prius and Auris owners

Have you ever tried a PHEV conversion kit to make your Prius or Auris to be a plug-in. Then your hybrid can go all-electric for 25miles. But there is a speed limit below 50km/h. Because when the speed exceeds 50km/h, prius will go in a hybrid mode. 25miles is a good news for short range commuters. You get your prius charged at home with household outlet then you don't need any drop of gas to and from work if your office is within 12.5mile range. It souds exciting.

There is of course Planetaire's PHEV conversion:
http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ius-30107.html
Planetaire trips the 'out of gas' mode that makes the Prius utilize electric power only, which allows for a higher max speed without using the engine.

Nonetheless, at any speed a PHEV booster pack will have a positive effect; that's why I'm investigating into a small portable PHEV pack for my '11 Insight.
It won't just save some gas, it will also make it (even) more fun to drive.

You in China? Research Enginer, they use to sell PHEV kits in the US for Prius and other hybrids.

I would love to have a PHEV kit for the G1 insight. It would be great to turn off the engine at cruising speed and just run off the electric motor. It should have enough hp/torque to maintain 45-50mph on flat ground.

Yea I know, but I don't have the money for the piggy back battery. One for the PHEV kit would probably be 4k+.

You cant afford to cobble together a nominal 144 volt battery, but you can swing 4 grand for a phev kit?

China has a supplier. about 3700usd. only send to your sea port. But you have to pay to clear customs and get it from sea port. I don't how much you have to pay to clear the customs for a product like this. Do you have tax rebate from your government? I don't know. Some governments encourage products like this, so no taxt.
