The Transporter

.

Remember the movie "The Transporter" ...???

Here's "The Real Transporter"...

Watch this 10 minute video of Giorgi Tevzadze drive like a complete lunatic on public roads in his M Powered BMW in Georgia. With no police chasing him and not a single scratch on his car, this guy is clearly a seasoned professional. This idiot will kill someone one day, I hope it’s himself and not an innocent civilian.

I've seen that video. And it looks exactly like every wannabe-gangsta on the streets of South Asia.

He should come here. Wouldn't last ten minutes, and barefoot, snaggle-toothed old men driving surplus tractors would beat him in a straight-up race through traffic.

Do the police do anything about it or do they just turn their heads?

...I agree with niky about the 'Jeepney' drivers in the Philippines (well, in Cavite and Manila) being crazy!

Once in Manhattan I realized I'd never figure my way through some of their oddball intersections on the fly and decided to latch on to a cab and follow it through. It was pretty exciting, but it worked.

Iraq. You create your own traffic patterns when you've got a kid manning a .50 on your roof. Traffic is even more meaningless when your truck was tired even before they bolted on the armor kit- after that a moped with three guys on it can leave you standing still. Hopping berms is almost impossible then, too.

What's infuriating is when you're stuck closing a road until the engineers clear the IED, and within 10 minutes the small dirt road paralleling the highway has 5 cars abreast and every one of them thinks he'll be the one guy to talk you into letting him go through. "Bomb, yes, very dangerous. I go through, please?"
