If they're socialists why do they charge for their services?

Our Software Partners
Friendship Systems
Interactive 3D web app to design a glider
Friendship Systems

Friendship Systems is a German software company that develops the software system CAESES. They developed an interactive 3D web app to design a glider plane. It includes a first theoretical indication on the aerodynamics after which the 3D model can be sent directly to AirShaper for a full-blown 3D flow analysis.
Mechanical Simulations
Software to simulate vehicle behaviour
Mechanical Simulations

Mechanical Simulation Corporation is the world leader in the development and distribution of advanced software (CarSim, Truck Sim & BikeSim) used to simulate vehicle behaviour. It partnered with AirShaper to get accurate aerodynamic properties directly fed to CarSim.
Neural Concept
3D Deep Learning Software
Neural Concept

Neural Concept accelerates and automates the engineering process for industrial companies using innovative, deep-learning algorithms that morph 3D shapes to optimize drag, lift and other aerodynamic parameters. It leverages AirShaper simulation data to train its algorithms.

Do socialists employ free and open source software? Anarcho-capitalists would. I looked at, e.g., Friendship Systems but they don't talk about Open Source or the Free Software Foundation.

I question their commitment to the cause.

Compare with Simscale:

Which runs in your web browser. They give away 3000 hours of computer time with the caveat that everything is in public domain, then you can pay for private access once you're up the curve.

Compare with airshaper's 'first-one's-free' licensing model.

edit: licensing for lisencing

O.K. - that is just too good to be true.
How can this be free ?

There is either a catch, or Autodesk is in the process of buying the company and shutting it down.

( But then I find myself asking the same question about Blender 3D It is fantastic FREE software . www.blender.org )

Find out and tell us.

Pareto Principle says only 20% of users would consume 3000 hours, and the marginal cost per hour is small. The 3000 hours are training time to get up the learning curve.

Once you're serious you pay to keep the result proprietary.

2nd look at Cybertruck yields Cd 0.281

I photo-enlarged the exoskeleton image onto 11 X 17 paper and went after it with drafting instruments.
A non-Tesla website provided estimates for critical dimensions and power consumption.
Working with the Motor Trend testing of the Model S I was able to isolate aero, then rolling-resistance power loads.
From the Cybertruck's estimated power consumption I calculated road horsepower of 41.8839-hp,at 65-mph.Using the footprint of the truck, compared to the Model S,I estimated 6,041-pounds EPA test weight for Cybertruck.Using the same R-R coefficient as the Model S,I subtracted that value out,to leave the remaining aero horsepower of 20.3499 horsepower at 65-mph.Reverse-engineering for drag coefficient with the 38.53-sq-ft frontal area calculated from the drawing left Cd0.281 to achieve power balance.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Body observations:
*optimized low nose
*optimized nose shape
*nose side chamfering = zero separation
*nose-frunk-windscreen slope = favorable pressure regime
*upper half of wind screen is curved
*front quarter panels have plan taper/camber
*the body possesses a seven different body widths to achieve almost imperceptible camber
*frontal area occurs at the roof apex line/between doors
*airflow is 'attacking' the body all the way to the apex line
*from wind tunnel tuft-testing image, there is no edge separation or vorticity in the forebody (1968 Alfa Romeo Calabo,by Nuccio Bertone)
*upper rear windscreen is curved
*from the Bearman et al. research of 1984,the Cybertruck's 10-degree-sloped greenhouse does not have any vortex-induced drag at all
*the greenhouse's est. 27.5-degree tumblehome is not necessary to prevent edge vorticity
*the wheel arch blisters may provide splash and spray protection and could conceivably produce a Whitcomb-waisting function, adding frontal area as both body cross-section both grows and declines
*the aft-body is boat-tailed
*the aft separation line provides for perfect 'burst'
*aside from a locked-vortex just behind the roof apex, the descending roof-line is separation-free,with pressure recovery all the way to the separation line of the tailgate.
*the belly is perfect
*there is no cab-to-bed gap.
*wheel covers should prove to be low drag
*lack of side mirrors is good for a 0.010 drag reduction
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
*L/H = 3.3705,at 8-inch ground clearance,which in other cars produces Cd 0.24-to-Cd 0.150
*L/h = 3.814,which in other cars produces Cd 0.367-to-Cd 0.15
*Aft-body is 56.94% of overall body length, which in other cars produces Cd 0.20-to-Cd 0.137
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

So Musk doesn't believe it but you do?
Come on, it's not going to be under .3, not anything like it was on the reveal.

I assume, much like the Model 3 was tweaked, this will be also.

But as for specific drag and frontal area... I am going to assume it is as good as or better than the RAM.

With Ford being sued about the MPG for its trucks, I bet more information will come out about the true MPG of pickups and it will be scrutinized more.

spaceXcentric (on Youtube) speculates that the dismantled Mark i Starship might provide material to use in Cybertrucks. Those would be a collector's edition.

It's not belief,it's physics. All the supporting research was done in the 1960s,'70s,and '80s.It's all in Hucho's text.

If they're going to tweak it,they'll have to within 6-months of the scheduled production date,to lock in the final design;construct the tooling, jigs, fixture, assembly line, and robotic programming, plus technician training.
