Yes, safety is always an issue with two vehicles so close. My idea was to have the film vehicle drive in its own lane then set and maintain its speed. I would then match speed at an angle of 45 degrees or so to the camera car. This way there are no issues with us misinterpreting what the other was signaling. Florida being the giant sandbar that it is has many very low traffic roads where speeds of 45-65 can be maintained safely for miles (not that I need that much space or speed)

I like the idea of mounting the camera on the nose but I have no laptop to record with. Might have to borrow one. I have long enough USB extensions that will do the job.

My primary concerns are the upper grille, fog light buckets and the two outer lower grilles. I am not planning on blocking the two lower inner grilles at this point.

As a side note I got the gap between the radiator and and the hood sealed. Temps dropped a few degrees as indicated on the gauge.

If you go the cheap spy cams they record to internal memory or micro sd card, just dowload when you get home.

Good question, QuickLTD, I was wondering the same thing about the grid spacing and string length.
