My thought process is that looking at the wifes A2 (15" pepperpots with 185/60/15's) the wheel and tyre have a fairly straight profile, kind of like when people use pizza trays to improve the aero.. Mine seems to look a bit more like a donut so was curious if I would be better off with a wider rim to straighten up the sidewall a bit. Swapping wheels is relatively cheap as they never fail to sell on Ebay

Quite a while back,the 'NEW' metric radials were becoming OEM equipment on passenger cars.
Pirelli had the lowest LLR tire of the day,and the sidewall was fabricated with the curvature 'built in' to create a better air-spring when run at the higher forecast inflation pressures so as not to beat the car,nor occupants to death.
My under-informed opinion is not to be concerned about the 'balooning,' that it is a necessary evil in the quest for LLR and as mentioned by others,that aerodynamic palliatives can be added to compensate for increased perturbation of the local airflow around the sidewall.
