Hello,

I know this is an old thread, but searching here didn't turn up further discussion. I had been hunting down a parasitic drain, and eventually found that fuse 12 (the OBD port) was sucking 20mA. I hadn't seen any figures above posted for current loss, but 20mA is not insignificant. A VW TSB (how I got the current flow, just calculated from voltage drop) for this issue states that in sleep mode the Jetta should be at 40mA or less, so under max allowable conditions the UG would be 50% of the current drain.

I know there's a fix, just wanted to share. I was able to turn that on/off by unplugging the UG. Car had been off for a couple hours, so I imagine the UG would have no reason to be on. Anyway, love the gauge but don't want to have to ship it in or deal with it scanning each time i re-plug it in.
