Hi,

Actually, I've heard that each gallon of gasoline is equivalent to 63 sticks of TNT.

[Edit: my point is that we already accept a very large risk of explosion, so a different risk is not far removed from what we live with now.]

I am far from having the knowledge of any mechanic, but I have been told that gasoline in it's liquid stage is pretty stable. I understand that when the gasoline becomes FUMES is at the point it becomes very dangerous. But, I may have "my wires crossed" too, I'm not sure.

...I think everybody is alluding to the fact that when/if the supercap detonates, the explosion will turn the gas tank and its contents into an instant vapor cloud..., thereby adding tremendously to the already in progress KA-BOOM!
