UltraGauge not picking up EOC?

My UG, when installed in my Ion, doesn't always pick up when I EOC... Sometimes instead of going up to 999.9instant MPG, it'll go up to 100-200, like I were coasting with engine on... Ideas?

I think you mean DFCO, not EOC, don't you? I think my UG goes to zero or sits at the last number or shows "err" when I EOC. Assuming it is DFCO you are asking about ... the gauge is reading the upstream O2 Sensor to detect DFCO, so check for a "lazy" 02 (contaminated or otherwise damaged). Hope that helps...

One more thought, also assuming DFCO is the question: the situation could be rellevant. If the engine is still cold(ish) or the RPMs are too low, a perfectly normally operating car's ECU will not put the engine into DFCO mode.

I think you can check this by looking to see whether the engine's in open or closed loop. Seems to work for my Insight, anyway.

I should clarify, when I key off while the car is moving(EOC) it doesn't always indicate 999.9mpg instant, but sometimes only goes up to 100-200... I check for DFCO by checking loop status indicator, and it never goes up above 100-150mpg in DFCO... However I know that is a setting that can be adjusted in the UG... The EOC issue is perplexing though... Sometimes when stopped with engine off during a trip, my trip average will drop as if the engine were idling, even though it's clearly stopped
