Unable to find 165/70R13 LRR tires
The Sumitomo HTR T4 is mentioned all over this forum but the tire was discontinued in 2012. Does anyone have actual, working links to 165/70R13 LRR tires?

Tire rack showed nothing in your size.
They have Kumho Solus KR21 in 185/70-13.
I'm not a big fan of Kumho, having run two sets and finding them making odd sounds with the tread approximately only half used up.
Consider finding some 15" rims for your car.
A little research will find the tire size that would give you the same overall final diameter.
13" tires getting hard to find, and 14's are starting to decrease in availability a bit too.

This page has about 5 different choices for that size but it's unclear if any of them are LRR. Which do you think would yield the best mpg?

I would just go to 14''s or 15''s before you find your self unable to get a tire next time you need them 3 to 5 years from now. You might get lucky and just have to special order them out of china or end up doing something like using trailer tires.
If you had 15''s your tires size and selection would almost be unlimited with tons of LLR choices.

If bigger rims is not an option right now, the Defenders suggestion would get my vote. They are LRR by Michelin. I'm sure they will outlast and outperform the five tires in your second post here.

There are specialty "vintage tire" places. Coker Tire sells a number of vintage sized modern tires, so they may be a place to look. But, as with most things with the "vintage" label, they won't be that cheap.
There are other places as well. They might be worth a look.

For educational purposes, what would be wrong with trailer tires? Wouldn't they be skinnier and get better mpg? |

Skinnier, yes. Better MPG, it's a toss-up.
What I would recommend is getting some cheap 15" wheels. I got a set of Chevy Cobalt steelies for $10 last week and am waiting for UPS to deliver some brand new, LRR Yokohama Avid Ascend tires, on which there is a recent Ecomodder thread.
You can get 155/80 or 175/70 13" tires all day long, but they're not going to be worth a damn. If you have an EG Civic 175/70/13 or 185/60/14 are your stock sizes.
