Well ya, they are now. But when they first came out, there were unproven and a lot cheaper to buy used.

Blue book value is based off of what cars are selling for, right? so according to the Blue Book value the Volt is holding it's value better then more established vehicles, having a vehicle drop in value by only 15% in the first year after heavy use sounds like it held it's value pretty good, so having the example given says it dropped in value by around 20% that doesn't seem unreasonable at all if it's being sold in an area with low demand or the market is being flooded due to a fleet being sold off.
I did some figuring the other day and there is one Volt for every 14,500 people more or less in the USA so having a handful of Volts for sale in a single city seems like a pretty saturated market right now for a car that not everyone is accepting.

The cheapest one in LA seems to be about $29k at 13K miles to about $37K at 2300 miles :

Lately some odd things have been causing that not to always be true but it always was and likely always will be that way.
I think that is a bit inflated. I THINK. A few years ago I read that is was more like 20 off the lot, 30-40 over two years. That was with the Cadillac XLR. I know some cars, like the real high power Corvette, has crazy depreciation.

But I would think the XLR would be worse.

I think the price is very good for usd volt. I bought cheap chevrolet at salvage auto auction so it was even cheaper, but of course the car needed some repairs to be done.
