That is AWESOME! It even sounds cool as it drives by. It looks like something out of this world when seen in motion

Great story! A tribute to ecommodding in motion for sure.
The story talks about the great mpg, but also mentions the cars unique look.
I like the part near the end when they allude to the car's style.
The reporter is between Mike and the car and the reporter points to the car
Reporter: <tongue in cheek> "Another fringe benefit...Chicks."
<Mike and reporter laugh>
Mike: "Somehow I doubt that."
<Mike and reporter continue laughing>
Background announcer: Yeah...That is the only drawback.

Got a chance to see the video. There was a bit of the "look at the nerd and his funny looking car" tingeing the presentation, but overall it was ok. That last scene of my car was a FAS at 45mph.
65.1mpg on the way into work this morning, 85.3 mpg on the way back home this evening, all at 55 to 65mph speeds.

basjoos, iI get a lot of media coverage for a project I head up and its all most always way off, for the most part.. don't sweat it , what media says is so not what reality is.. you have seen it in this small story .. its all a show for entertainment value.. with a bit or reality mixed in.
Any way I'm in this game , I'm looking at a CRX HE tomorrow with nice low miles.. Ill be doing something very similar to what you have done to your civic.. hopefully pulling down 80mpg like you are.. your a pioneer, even if you don't think you are, as its not hidden technology .. its just using it when its not used.. some of the best things are the oldest most obvious technology.. like the wheel and fire ad BIG hammers

Heck if you saved $250 a month thats almost enough for a car payment on a hybrid.. but why would you drive a hybrid when your moded out car can do better mpg
I seriously think I can make a CRX get 80mpg average with full body mods like this.. bet you could do the same on a metro too. Thats scooter mileage ratings in a car!

ebacherville,if your going for a CRX,be careful,as they offered three different differentials in the 1st generation cars ( Calif.,49-state,and high-altitude ).The 500-rpm difference can lose you 10-mpg on the highway! I know,I got stuck with one.52 vs 62 mpg, really sucks.United States Auto Club scored over 70-mpg in cross-country roadtests with 49-state cars.Don't know about subsequent generations of the cars.

I got the CRX, its was second owner in the family car.. no rust, 128,000 miles it was originally purchaced in Indiana by the guys mom, she owned it till 3 years ago and then he drove it for 3 years.. was out of the rust belt till 9 months ago..
It's rough on the body few dents top of the nose between the lights (grill piece) is gone.. the guy put some heave metal screen there to protect the radiator etc.. so its not very aero now...lol.. has some issues, to be expected.. but runs and drives decent.. At 70mph I think its at 2500 on the tach.. seemed pretty low for that speed.. drove it 150 miles and the gas gauge barely moved
Best of all talked the guy down to $950.
Ill be starting a new thread for my car.. should be interesting to get ideas of how to mod one of the most fuel efficient cars in the USA for insane MPG numbers..
