That is one fast little motor, less then a 1.5L
I bet the wheel caps accounted for around a 10 mph gain, My Beetle needs a set of those..

This article says their EPA combined is going to be about 45 mpg:
2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid priced from $24,995*

Just imagine if they'd used a diesel engine. That 2.0L TDI engine already had a highway rating of 42 mpg.
