vw jetta wagon (can I install MPG gauge from V6 model in 1.8T model?)

I have a 2003 vw jetta wagon with the 1.8l turbo engine. I would like to put a mileage meeter on it that came from another model of the same car, the 6 cylinder version does anyone know if this is possible?

Where exactly is the mileage meter located? If it's in the cluster it might be as simple as a cluster swap, if you don't need to change any other electronics, but perhaps that's not it.

You could always pick up a scangauge, not stock but will give you more information with perhaps more ease.

Good stuff. When I drove the 09 jetta tdi I was pretty happy with the cluster mpg readout, just wish it would show more than one piece of data at a time.

Your best resource for a cluster swap, or how to configure your MFA readouts, would be TDIclub.com Someone there would know, or has already made a thread regarding which cluster features would be available on yours, and/or if a cluster swap is needed to get the output like you saw on the V6 equipped car your same model year.

module 17 19 re coding to match immobilizer

it is possible
BUT
the immobilizer coding will not match
module 17 and module 19 are both located in the cluster AND they must be coded to the car
or nothing in the car will function and the car will not start

that info will be available in VW Vortex also see RossTech regarding immobilizer

you will need to bring it to a shop that has OEM VW coding capability or a VW Audi dealer

VCDS will not do it on a 2003
