I think the sad truth about why VW didn't even try to import the XL1 to the US, is revealed because of the TDI emissions problem. They knew there was no way to get it in, and get the mileage.

I really hope that VW builds a version of the XL1 with regular cost materials, and in both an EV only version, and a gasoline version of the plugin hybrid that was the original.
