The problem with the EU tyre label, is that it's classes are already used up at the time of its introduction.
A few manufacturers have already made "A A" label tyres - though they aren't yet on the market - while many tyres are already in the B category.

How does the Michelin Defender Tire rate? It has the Intellisipe tech claiming to deliver better fuel economy via lower rolling resistance. It also has a very high treadwear rating:

Michelin rates the defender an 8 ingas mileage while the energy saver AS is a 10 if that tells ou anything. I have the defenders. They are a solid tire. Quiet, good handling, long treadlife, and LLR. But I am sure they ar enot the best LRR out there.
