[citation needed] but back in the 1980s, the Eugene, OR, dump moved from what's now Alton Baker Park to Glenwood and contracted with Alli-Chalmers to build a vertical tower to sort recyclables automagically. Worked fine until the first half-empty propane bottle went up. --KA-BOOM--

Unrelated to everything...

I saw an ad for yet another live-action adaptation of a movie I enjoyed when I was a kid.

I will rewatch the cartoon, thank you very much.

However, there was a shot that made Ursula look particularly comely, while I wasn't impressed with the new Ariel. I posted

The new Ursula is prettier than the new Ariel. Fight me.

Maybe, but give both of them curves and get back to me.

Perhaps back on-topic. I tried to clean out the garage looking for my dowel pins so I can resume all of my projects and I broke down two small boxes, once again hating packaging tape with strings.

Get rid of the strings or make them strong enough to come off with the tape, but all that I feel I accomplished today was breaking down those two small boxes.

I found tons of little plastic bits on the garage floor and all of that is garbage.

A plastic tub had a hole in it and I broke it down and threw it in the garbage.

Is that allegedly recyclable in Show Low?

I didn't have any idea. I have seen recycling bins that listed what you could and couldn't recycle, but not ours!

I asked Google and just saw that it was allegedly recyclable in Phoenix.

Okay, but each time I stepped on it everything shattered, so any large recyclable pieces would be accompanied by many shards that are garbage, and any large pieces would most likely break between here and the recycling center.

Supposedly rocket stoves burn cleanly.

If you incinerate plastic how much pollution is there if it is hot enough?

Also, if everywhere stopped recycling plastic would people use less of it?

Maybe we could do just glass and paper?

You're both wrong.

Men tend to find women of a certain age range more attractive for natural reasons.

There's a reason post-menopausal women aren't as attractive. There are plenty of attractive post-menopausal women, but you should have seen them when they were younger.

I reject our fake cultural value that men who seek unreproductive women are somehow better than those willing to endure the huge responsibility of raising children. Screwing around is optional to our species, but making and raising children is not. That's not any slight on those who don't reproduce or raise children, as there are endless roles to be fulfilled in society, only a rejection of the anti-family culture.

I'll probably not watch any Disney newer than about 2005 because the "follow your idiot heart" stories were already bad enough before then.

So what you're saying is....

You're into tentacles? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

There is nothing anti-family about acknowledging that old men that date women younger than their children or grandchildren are creepy. Then there is the basic biological fact that a 60 or 70 year old man is unlikely to see any children born to that 20 year old woman reach adulthood.

Only men, then? The thread veered from artistic interpretation to procreation. ....rapidly.

Reminds me of the other day when I said to someone "I guess you could say the Starship was a roaring success" because I thought it was funny.

He responded with "I'm glad it crashed. Elon Musk is an *ssh*le and a N*zi". I think I can safely say what it is that he projects onto others.

I like to derail threads Xist derail, but do it faster and more annoyingly.

At least I found it funny to say someone is wrong about what they find attractive; that's the most absurd thing a person could say.

The good people of Springfield felt that Troy McClure was wrong for finding the residents of the aquarium attractive--or was it just acting out?

I would understand anyone saying that it would be creepy for me to date a 20-year-old, but if it was the 20-year-old's idea, and she doesn't act immature, like many 30-40-year-olds that I try to date?

Well, this is a scenario I don't see playing out.

Presumably the scenario where an old man marries a young woman the man is rich and\or the woman is from a poorer country.

Arguably it would be irresponsible to sire children he wouldn't be around to raise--and the mom who married to get what she wanted might not be the best role model.

They didn't show tentacles in the ad.

I really like legs, but Ariel didn't have those, either!
