what is a good used hypermiler car for less than $1500

Just curious if you were in the market for buying a used car. And wantednto achieve the highest possible mileage. What car would you choose? There are many cars available and I would assume that a light 2 seater car, that is in manual, and is already efficient and gets about 30 miles to the gallon is probably a good platform. What if you want to achieve 70 miles to the gallon?

Some cars would be great and importantly cheap

1. Toyota tercel ive seen manynfor under 1000$
2. Geo metro
3. Toyota paseo. That is what I have. But auto trans which hurts
4. Old Honda insight. Not sure you can get them for less than 1500
5 old Prius?
6. Toyota celica
7. Honda civics
8. Honda Del Sol?
9. Nissan sentra
10. Wvolkswafen TDI. Not sure you can get it for cheap
11. Chevy cavalier?
12. Ford focus

Chevrolet Aveo. Several in your area in your price range.

I drove one for about three weeks, in the winter, through two snowstorms, below zero temperatures, automatic transmission. And still got 36 MPG. With a manual transmission, I would expect over 50 MPG in the summer.

22 Maverick: Summer 2022 burned 62.74 gallons in 3145.1 miles for 50.1 MPG. Winter 2023-2024 - 2416.7 miles, 58.66 gallons for 41 MPG.

Aveos have lots of issues though, and read out more codes than the car is worth. It may seem like a nice cheap option, but all the people that I know that have one really dislike it because it is not a quality car. Good hypermiler cars are cars that will last you for life if treated carefully, and sadly, the Aveo is not one of those cars.
