I think the city hired local business to collect the branches gathered near the street and send them into a chipper. Today the pile of limbs I collected (mostly from my neighbors yard) was chipped up and hauled away. No idea how that gets paid for unless there's some sort of disaster fund to pull from. I thought Oregon refunded funds in excess of expenses (kicker check).

Mini Segway (Ninebot Mini Pro) and no motion smoothing.

A later video showing work crews was shot from the electric unicycle.

Maybe they sell it ?

Mixed Wood Chips go for around ~$30 per ton
TimberMart-South | South-wide Average Prices

about the same as mixed paper recycling.
Mixed paper products ~$30 / ton
https://resource-recycling.com/recyc...e-in-december/

One full mature tree can be up around ~10tons.

Even if it took 1 hr for a full tree worth .. which it doesn't take that long .. that would be about ~$300 per hour.

Or maybe it's both .. they get paid to do it .. and .. then they sell it.

Most of the time it just goes to the landfill.
Many localities have a compost recycle.. they are fussy about input however.

Most cities have a dedicated clean up crew for city owned trees that is part of the annual tax based budget that can be pressd into emergency service, and a slush fund for emergencies that will employ non city crews
