You don't have to remove the side mirrors, just folding one of them would help. Put a wide angle mirror over the central mirror and you'll see what's beside you through the side windows (works for me).

Or fold the mirror and put a smaller one in its wake.

How long will the Kammback be - to the rear bumper, or to the end of the bike rack?

Ahh. Have you done anything in terms of tuning and/or fuel mapping?

I had a spare piece of black coroplast laying around and it is a beautiful day in NorCal!
I figured from estimating on the overlay, that the rear hieght at the edge of the spoiler was about 5" or a blue plastic glass!!!!

I laid the coroplast over the trunck to see if it would work for a test drive.

I want to try to stay within the trunck lines and this piece did that.

I wedged these strips into the gap and used them to anchor the kammback

left the rear window lip spoiler on as an edge to wedge the coroplast under.

ended up using some clear tape to attach everything.

This is the best mpg I have ever gotten over my 'control run'(same 10 mile strip of freeway that I have used over the last 3 yrs to test aba.)

I was really hopping to see 35mpg and probaly could at 55mph.

now I have 6 weeks to figure uot how to make this look factory!!!!!

Do you think I gave up anything by not going the full width of the rear end?
My original plan is to make some type of bracket that uses the trunk lid gap to hold the kammback on.....kinda like how the bike rake hooks to the gap in the trunck lid.

And as I think about it, I could bropably go wider and still hook to the trunk lips.....
Run some type of soft foam along the edges of the kammback to seal it against the body.

So this gets you from 32 mpg to 34.4 mpg?

Now a 2.4 mpg improvement is not bad. but will the clear version look much better?

What materials and securing details are you considering?

btw, here is the profile...

SO FOR EXAMPLE PURPOSES ONLY!!!!

build a frame uot of some aluminuum stock. So it sits on the trunk. Then use adjustable staps to secure it.
Similar to the picture. I thew this on there to demonstrate the idea of a frame that is held down by pulling the straps tight, like on a bike carrier. But I just set that on there for an example.....

Very interesting. If I ever did something like this, I'd use my rear spoiler as the primary support and frame.
