A million bucks goes a bit further in Brazil.

You can hardly buy a crappy townhouse in SF for a million bucks.

Our friends recently offered $460k on an old 3 bedroom house listed for $415k and lost.

We've been warned of rapid inflation for 2 decades now.. I wonder if we're finally approaching it.

Sure, but it can go a bit further in other places too, and the right investment may pay itself quicker.

California is out of my radar anyway.

For the most bang for your bucks, site the estate where you can implement John Todd's permaculture principles. https://www.toddecological.com/

And I think the perfect farm truck would be an electric stainless steel reproduction Crosley Farm-O-Road.

Looking over the linked website, one finds www.toddecological.com/news:

The carbon-neutral water taxi and light cargo vessel that we are currently developing is a collaboration between ourselves and Laurie McGowan, an innovative Canadian naval architect, from Nova Scotia. We wanted a hybrid vessel to be the equivalent of a Tesla-of-the-Sea that could function as a modern workboat and, depending on the weather, keep to a schedule just as fossil fuel powered watercraft do. Laurie McGowan gave us exactly what we needed.

If your new estate has a flat wall facing the prevailing wind, here's a wind turbine that would work well in the stagnation point.

That's one thing to consider. Well, of course I would be willing to try some water-saving and fish-farming, which by the way seems to be a good way to improve the Nitrogen levels on the soil through the usage of wastewater from fish tanks for watering of the crops.

Most likely no full-EV for me, but maybe a plug-in hybrid wouldn't be out of question at all. And even though the minimalist approach of Crosley is nice, I was considering something more conventional. Probably would look at a Fiat Strada as its size is convenient for a not-so-large country estate.

Catamarans are cool. Would be an interesting option if I were into boating as a hobby.
