wheel dam material sugestions?

untill recent i had two nice wheeldams in front of my front tires but recently i noticed the portion in front of my right tire had snapped off...
i vaguely recall hearing a strange noise a while back when hitting a pothole so maybe that's the reason, or maybe i hit a curb somewhere...

whatever the reason i think it's time to invest in some flexible material... now they where made from a cheap plastic bucket... it had some flex but the recent sub zero temps might have made it a little more brittle.

i need something that's flexible as the dam makes a 90 degree bend on the inside.

my dad mentioned an automotive supply shop might have some truck mudflap material wich would be ideal, but i'm a little consearned about the price... does anyone have experience with this stuff and how much would i expect to pay for it?

About $10-$25 depending on size and quality. Here are some middle price ones at NAPA.

If there is a truck repair shop near you, ask them if you can have some torn ones.

lunarhighway, I had the exact same thing happen to my first wheel dams, except it happened when a friend was borrowing the car. I had used a thin plastic plant pot. (BTW, I thought those CD spindle deflectors were very well done.) So I found generic mudflaps at a local auto supply store and they're much more durable, with the scuff marks to prove it. I've decided to change my design, however, from flat dams to a 3D aero shape, inspired from the first Insight. I'll post pics when it's finished.
