Wind speed gauge

I have been wondering if anybody had a way to measure the wind speed while on the move. It would be cool to know if you have a 10 mph tail wind without having to stop or watch the weather channel to accurately increase or decrease speed on the highway.

Before Ecomodder existed, back in the Gassaver days, there was a guy with a Honda Del Sol who installed an airspeed indicator in his car. He mounted the pitot tube out through the grill. In addition to the presence of head or tail winds, it can also tell you the best location to be in when drafting other traffic. Any airspeed indicator made for an ultralight aircraft would work in a car.

I wonder if there is a way to use an Arduino and air speed gauge for this. It would definitely be useful info.

Years ago I thought some one from here was working on one (arduino airspeed). Seemed like it was going to support pressure (airspeed) and accelerometers. I never saw any progress.

55 doesn't seem bad as a limit, other than it has to be connected to the mobile phone by cord. I'd be concerned about integrating this into my cars.
