I like the idea of using wind for north south travel in the midwest. Anywhere else in this country, I don't see it working.

Wind sports have always interested me, I'm a big fan of sailing & windsurfing. I also held the record once (briefly) for "fastest speed over wind speed" on a windsurfer. It's was a multiple of 2.3:1 or similar.
