I've mentioned it before; one time I forgot the tire stem cap on the cowl of the Tempo... drove 350 miles, saw it still sitting there, put it on when I stopped.

The air simply doesn't flow close to the car in this area.

And any mods you make here will have virtually zero effect. Smooth wheel covers - check. Wheel skirts - check. Kamm back - check. Grill blocks - check. Wheel strakes - check. Belly pans - check. Boattail - check. But wiper deletes and cowlings won't make much of a difference, if any.
Could be because of the wipers blocking airflow though

LOL, wonder if thats similar to the coke can that hitched a ride on the back bumper of my Suburban from Middle TN all the way to Chicago! Sucker was empty too which made it more baffling.

If the wind noise is lower, that is reason enough to keep it. I have the passenger side wiper lowered into the cowl and it gets fewer bugs on it. It wipes instead of smearing the bugs around in a light rain. Your cowl spoiler is hardly noticeable so I vote "leave it".

When I removed the radio antenna I was surprised at how much quieter it got. They're noisy!

The antenna on the Escort in abover the drivers door at a backwards angle and can be pushed into its hole so only the tip shows...your not kiddin, drivin around with it closed is so much quieter than with it up lol
